Sparkman & Stephens Pedigree – Baltic Build Quality
Built by Baltic Yachts in Finland to a design by Sparkman & Stephens, OBELIX represents one of the finest 52s ever produced — a fast, strong, and timeless performance cruiser.
Extensively Refitted (2021 – 2024)
Always sailed in the Mediterranean and never across oceans. Between 2021 and 2024 she received major upgrades including a new teak deck, new sails, updated Raymarine electronics, batteries, watermaker, and covers. All systems checked and maintained for turn-key use.
Two-Cockpit Layout for Shorthanded or Crewed Sailing
The dual cockpit design allows efficient sail handling aft and a comfortable guest area forward — practical for both shorthanded cruising and racing with crew.
Warm, Functional Interior for Extended Cruising
Three double cabins, two heads, and a bright saloon in hand-finished teak create a comfortable and durable environment for long-term cruising.
Sailing Yacht for Sale
OBELIX is a 1990 Baltic 52, designed by Sparkman & Stephens and built by Baltic Yachts Finland, renowned for precision composite construction and ocean-ready yachts.
This is the desirable two-cockpit version, offering excellent control from the aft helm and an efficient layout for shorthanded or crewed sailing.
She has been Mediterranean-based since launch and has never crossed oceans. Between 2021 and 2024, she underwent an extensive refit including a new 10 mm teak deck, new Ullman sails, Raymarine i70S electronics, new propeller, new covers and sprayhood, and a hull polish and repaint. All batteries were renewed in 2024 and systems serviced for immediate use.
Below deck, OBELIX shows Baltic’s trademark craftsmanship: solid teak joinery, practical layout, and excellent headroom. She offers accommodation for six in three double cabins, each with access to a head and shower, plus a large saloon with seating for eight and a fully equipped galley.
Mechanically and electrically, OBELIX is fully modernised — Yanmar 107 hp diesel (surveyed 2022, approx. 2300 hrs), Vetus bow thruster, Mastervolt inverter and charger (2023), solar panels, Shencker Smart 100 watermaker (2024), and Lewmar windlass with new Rocna anchor.
Maintained with care and sailed lightly, she is an excellent opportunity to acquire a classic Baltic performance cruiser in genuine turn-key condition.
